Bohl, the front-seat passenger, told officers she was the registered owner of the car and was asked for consent to search the vehicle, which she granted.

While searching the rear passenger seat area where Peters had been seated, a pair of jean shorts were found on the floor board. The pockets of the shorts contained a pill bottle that had a plastic straw and a small baggie containing a crystalline substance. When asked about the pill bottle, Peters told officers she had asked a friend for some pain medication and he must have given her the wrong bottle.
