No injuries were reported Monday in a two-vehicle accident in Creston.
According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 3 p.m. a 2012 Nissan Versa, driven by Rodney T. Cottrell, 68, of Creston, was northbound on Vine Street when it hit a 2009 Buick Lucerne, driven by Daisy L. Redd, 39, of Creston, at the Harsh Street intersection.
The westbound Buick had slowed down and proceeded through the uncontrolled intersection where it was hit.
Failure to yield the right of way at an uncontrolled intersection by Cottrell was noted as a contributing circumstance to the accident. An illegally-parked SUV on Vine Street also contributed by blocking both drivers’ views of the intersection.
Redd was cited for failure to provide proof of financial liability (no insurance).
Damage to the Nissan was estimated at $5,000 and damage to the Buick was estimated at $1,500.
