No injuries were reported Wednesday in a one-vehicle accident near Afton.
According to a Union County report, at approximately 12:49 p.m. a 2023 Chevrolet CK1500, driven by Rochelle Means, 30, of Afton, was southbound on 190th at the S curves.
Means had gone through the first part of the curves and then reached into the backseat to do something for a child passenger. While reaching back, the Chevrolet went off the road into the west where it continued into the ditch and hit a utility pole. The pole snapped off above the truck and landed on the roof and in the bed of vehicle.
All of the occupants stayed in the vehicle until EMS arrived and determined it was safe to exit.
Damage to the truck was estimated at $10,000. Damage to the utility pole was estimated at $2,500.
