Creston Police: Woman kissed child on lips, followed inside home

Ashley D. Davis, 38, of Creston, was taken into custody 8:15 p.m. July 15, in the 500 block of North Elm Street on the charges of assault- contact insulting or offensive, child endangerment and burglary, third degree.

According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 7:55 p.m. Davis approached children she did not know because the kids were screaming. Davis then kissed one of the children, a 5-year-old, on the lips, which was witnessed by the child’s mother. The child told police she was scared by Davis’ actions.

The children then went into a residence on Elm Street in attempt to get away from Davis but she followed them inside. The incident was caught on security cameras which was viewed by police.

The children and their parents told police they did not know Davis. It was apparent to law enforcement that Davis was impaired during the incident.

Davis was transported to the Adams County Jail and held on $20,000 cash or surety bond.
