Rebekah A. Baker, 42, of Waukee, was taken into custody 7:41 p.m. July 9, in the 800 block of Laurel Street on the charge of OWI, first offense.
According to a Creston Police report, Baker was the driver of a motor vehicle while she was intoxicated. When having contact with officers, Baker was observed to have bloodshot, watery eyes, slow responses and was disoriented. Baker had a hard time walking and was unsteady on her feet. She admitted to consuming vodka and a nearly empty bottle of vodka was found in the vehicle.
Baker refused field sobriety testing, PBT and to provide a breath specimen for chemical testing.
Baker was transported to the Union County Jail where she was released from after posting $1,000 cash or surety bond.

Nicki R. Jones, 42, of Creston, was taken into custody 5:57 p.m. July 11, at her residence on the charge of theft, third degree.
According to a Creston Police report, Akin Building Center provided security footage of a female, identified as Jones, at the store at approximately 12:12 p.m. The video shows Jones putting multiple tubes of caulking into a bag and leaving the store without paying for the merchandise.
Jones has several prior theft convictions.
Jones was transported to the Union County Jail where she was released from after posting $2,000 cash or surety bond.

Michael J. Cooley, 19, of Afton, was taken into custody 11:30 a.m. July 11, at the Union County Law Enforcement Center on a Union County warrant for the charge of violation of a no contact order.
According to a Union County Sheriff’s Office report, at approximately 5:30 p.m. June 29, Cooley knowing made in-person contact with a protected party of a no contact order against him. Cooley and the protected party were observed inside a Pheasant Avenue residence together. Deputies observed the protected party’s vehicle at the residence but there was no answer at the door.
After law enforcement left, witnesses observed both Cooley and the protected party leave the residence together. Later, while officer’s were dealing with the protected party, Cooley called the protected party more than 15 times from a phone number confirmed by family members to be his.
Cooley was transported to the Union County Jail where he was released from on his own recognizance on a promise to appear after being seen by the magistrate.

Carlos R. Rivera, 41, of Creston, was taken into custody 9:33 a.m. July 11, at his residence on a Union County warrant for the charge of failure to appear on the original charges of OWI, first offense, possession of a controlled substance - cocaine, first offense and possession of a controlled substance - marijuana, first offense.
According to Union County District Court documents, Rivera was ordered to appear May 30 in court for pretrial conference on the original charges and did not.
Rivera was transported to the Union County Jail where he was released from after posting 10% of a $3,000 cash bond.
