Judy Shepherd, 83, of Adel, formerly of the Osceola area, died Friday, Nov. 1, 2024, at Adel Acres in Adel. Graveside Services will be 1 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 9, at Greenlawn Cemetery, Afton. Judith “Judy” Ann Shepherd was born July 2, 1941, daughter of Audrey Viola (Day) Shepherd and Jessie (George) Shepherd in Judy Shepherd in Union County. She graduated from Iowa High School for the Deaf in Council Bluffs in 1960.
Shortly after graduation Judy began working at Snowdens in Osceola and Obrien’s in Leon. Judy moved to Osceola in 1975 while working at Jimmy Dean Meat Processing Plant, where she worked for 18 plus years before retiring in 1987.
Judy is survived by her sister, Dixie Shepherd of Miami, Oklahoma; four nephews; eight nieces and many more great-, great-great- and great-great-great- nieces and nephews.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, George and Audrey Shepherd; sisters, Frances (Rex) Jones and Sue Schlebach; brothers, Terry Shepherd and Dan Shepherd; nephew, Brian Engle and great-nephew, Jeremy Nance.
