Dolores Lahey, 97, of Greenfield, passed away Friday, Nov. 1, 2024, at her home in Greenfield. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, 2024, at the Greenfield Cemetery. Open visitation will be held from 2 to 7 p.m., with family greeting friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, at the Lamb Funeral Home in Greenfield. The Lamb Funeral Home in Greenfield is in charge of the professional arrangements.

Dolores June Lahey was born on May 19, 1927, the daughter of Carl and Maggie (Jacobsen) Tilk in Greenfield. Dolores lived her whole life in Adair County. She was the oldest of five children. She didn’t get to graduate from high school and had to go to work on her own when she was 14. On Oct. 15, 1950, she was united in marriage to Jack Lahey. To this union two children were born: Karen and Joyce.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack Lahey in 2007; daughter, Karen Chiovaro in 2009 and one brother, Donald Tilk.
She is survived by her daughter, Joyce Browning of Grand Junction, Colorado; three grandsons, Bill Wood and wife Allison, Rick Wood and wife Ida and Jason Browning and wife Jessica; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Virginia Dickerson of Greenfield, Mary Lou Armstrong of California and Phyllis Johnson of West Des Moines; other relatives and friends.
