Accident: Truck and trailer totaled in one-vehicle accident

A truck and trailer were considered complete losses in a Tuesday one-vehicle accident in Union County.

A Creston man was injured Tuesday in a one-vehicle accident in Union County.

According to Union County report, at approximately 4:50 p.m. a 2020 Ford F150 pulling a travel trailer, driven by Fred E. Delong, 55, of Creston, was northbound on Cherry Street Road when it attempted to pass a vehicle and lost control.

Delong stated the tires of the trailer left the paved portion of the roadway and went onto the gravel shoulder on the west side of the road. The trailer then began to fishtail. Delong crossed back over into the northbound lane where the truck and trailer overturned onto their sides. The truck and trailer then went down the embankment where they rolled over.

A passenger in the truck, Jack D. Farlow, 66, of Creston, was transported by ambulance to Greater Regional Health for possible neck injuries.

Damage to the truck and trailer was estimated at $80,000.
