Lenox FFA chapter held its annual chapter banquet March 24. It started with a meal made by Smokin With E’s BBQ with sides provided by the families of the chapter.
Following dinner, members were recognized for their degrees, starting with the Discovery Degree. These members are junior high members that have a great future within the chapter: Montserrat Perez, Wyatt Leonard, Cash Brammer, Zech Gay, Jacob Weaver, Brynna Peterson, Danielle Robinson, Laramie Stoaks, Jaelynn Christensen, McKinzie Menefee, Jocelyn Smith, DaMerica Smits, Kenneth Jones, Cade Cordell, Avalyn Curtis, Levi Fitzgerald, Caden Kaufman, Maria Rodriguez and Micah Dougherty.
The Greenhand Degree is given to members that have completed their first year of FFA and have been active in the chapter throughout the year. Caeden David, Carter Reed, Adrinna Castillo, Rydder Hogan, Simon Privett, Sarah Notz and Chase England were all recognized for meeting these requirements.
Members Jace Smith and Donald Bashor received the Chapter Degree for completing their second year in FFA.
The last degree announced was the Iowa Degree, which will be presented to Ashlee David, Marcey Bailey, Josie Miller, and MaKynna England at the upcoming Iowa FFA Convention in April.
Two different scholarship awards were announced at the banquet. The first award, was previously awarded to Ashlee David at the Southwest District FFA Convention. She received this award for being a senior, a FFA member for two-plus years, and having a GPA of 3.5 or higher. The second scholarship awarded by the chapter, is given to the member with the highest grade point average in each grade. These members were: senior, Ashlee David; junior, Caeden David; sophomore, Carter Reed; and freshman, Chase England.
Other awards presented included the Outstanding Discovery Member, Monserrat Perez; Star Greenhand, Rydder Hogan and the Blue Jacket Award given to Ashlee David.
Members who participated in contest were recognized. Those include soil judging, participation in the Northwest Missouri State University Career Development Event Day, and sub-districts and district contest.
Fundraising Awards were awarded: first place, Carter Reed; second place, Chase England; third place, Marcey Bailey; forth place, Josie Miller; fifth place, Rydder Hogan.
Honorary Members, Brian and Diana David, were recognized and many Community Awards were given out.
The evening concluded by the retiring of all junior high and high school officers and the installation of new high school officers. Junior high officers retired were: President Zech Gay, Vice President JoDee Hauge, Secretary Jaelynn Christensen, Treasurer Cash Brammer, Reporter Jocelyn Smith, Sentinel Levi Fitzgerald, Historian Cade Cordell, Chaplain Kenneth Jones, and At Large Laramie Stoaks. President Ashlee David, Vice President Josie Miller, Secretary Marcey Bailey, Treasurer MaKynna England, Reporter Josie Miller, and Sentinel Jace Smith were retired to allow the installation of the 2022 - 2023 Lenox FFA Officer Team. Offically installed officers were: Sentinel Rydder Hogan, Reporter Josie Miller, Treasurer Caeden David, Secretary MaKynna England, Vice President Jace Smith and President Marcey Bailey.
