More than 69% say yes to new pool

Mainly incumbents were winners in city/school election

Greenfield voters said yes to the city bonding for an amount not to exceed $1 million for the purpose of building a new swimming pool Tuesday, during the city/school election.

The margin of victory for those voting yes was 336-166 (66.93% said yes).

All results are unofficial until they’re certified in the upcoming couple of weeks by county and state officials.

In Greenfield, Brian D. Fox received 476 votes (98.55%) to remain mayor. In the city council race, Jeff Clayton (436, 33.3%), Carl Faust (374, 28.59%) and Rita Eble (268, 20.49%) won city council seats. Nathan Hubenka received 222 votes (16.97%) and there were eight write-ins.

Dawn Brown will remain mayor of Fontanelle, receiving 99 votes (93.4%) with seven write-ins. Shawna Herr (59, 28.23%) and Andrew Martin (46, 22.01%) won council seats. Others on the ballot were Amando Guerrero (44, 21.05%), Daniel Miller (26, 12.44%) and Nancy Embree (7, 3.35%) with 27 write-ins.

Matthew Swanson is mayor of Orient with 26 votes (78.79%) and seven write-ins. Council members running unopposed were Travis Eggman (30, 31.91%), Justin Boswell (29, 30.85%) and Bryan Rohwer (28, 29.79%) with seven write-ins.

In Bridgewater, Roberta Carpenter remains mayor with 20 votes (80%) and five write-ins. James C. McCall (17, 32.69%) and Douglas Miller (17, 32.69%) won council seats. Tyler Warrior was also on the ballot (15, 28.85%) and there were three write-ins.

In school results, Kristen Jensen (524, 42.43%) and Daniel Shilling (398, 32.23%) will each remain at-large members of the Nodaway Valley School Board. Mary Dodson (307, 24.86%) was also on the ballot. Adam Woosley was running uncontested (649, 99.39%) in District 1.

Alex Maeder (54, 54.55%) and Bo Geidel (41, 41.41%) remain on the Orient-Macksburg School Board with four write-ins.

Adair’s Joanne Byars will be mayor with 100 votes (91.74%) and nine write-ins. Paul Gettler (112, 61.54%) will be on the council with 70 write-ins likely to decide who will fill the other open position.

Cory Kirkpatrick is Stuart’s new mayor (82, 73.87%) over John Gulbranson (14, 12.61%) with 15 write-ins. Winning city council seats there are Zach Ingwers (93, 29.06%), Trevor Nelson (91, 28.44%) and Angela Capps (79, 24.69%).

Lindsay Dinkla (121, 32.61%), Blair Carney (119, 32.08%) and Amanda Bireline (118, 31.81%) won at-large seats on the Adair-Casey School Board.

Mike Dickson received 117 votes in District 3 for West Central Valley School Board, Ashley E. Miller 118 in District 4, Dustin Foster 125 in District 6 and Jeff Dudley 133 in District 7.

SWCC Director Jane Ernst received 728 votes (99.6%) and Trish Roberts was approved as a DMACC director in Stuart (235, 98.3%).
