Pam Wiggins Golf Tournament

Adair County Health System is holding its annual Pam Wiggins Memorial Golf Tournament Friday, June 13 at Greenfield Country Club.

Four-person teams cost $400, with registration and breakfast at 8 a.m. and tee-off at 9 a.m. Lunch is at 11:30 a.m. with prizes given at 4 p.m.

Bridgewater Roundup Day June 14

Saturday, June 14 is Roundup Day in Bridgewater.

A meal will be served in the city park from 5-7 p.m. with hamburger, brat patty or hot dog on the menu, served with cole slaw, chips, dessert and a drink. The meal is $10 for adults and children 4 and over are $5.

Entertainment starts at 7 p.m. with Minute to Win It games and music.

Pork for the meal has been donated by Adair County Pork Producers.

Cover That June 14 in Greenfield

The Warren Cultural Center in Greenfield will be rocking 7 p.m. Saturday, June 14 with the band Cover That, a group of six professional musicians with well over 100 years of combined musical experience.

Although this is a Des Moines area band, members have toured nationally and shared the stage with groups such as Charlie Daniels Band, Slipknot and Jason Brown Band.

The repertoire of Cover That includes songs by Billy Joel, Billy Squire, Bon Jovi, Bryan Adams, Duran Duran, Elton John, Fleetwood Mac, Heart, Joan Jett, Journey, Pat Benatar, Pink, Sass Jordan, Walk The Moon, Whitesnake and many more!

Cover That, covering the pop and rock of yesterday, is the seventh in WCC’s 2024-25 All-Iowa series.

Tickets are $25 for adults — students (high school and younger) are free! Order tickets at warrenculturalcenter.com or get them at the door.

Community Baby Shower at Gathering Place

A community baby shower honoring Adair County’s prenatal families and infants will be 5-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 17 at The Gathering Place in Greenfield.

There will be resources, support material and door prizes during the event.

St. John’s Fest June 21

St. John’s Fest at St. John’s Catholic Church is 6-9:30 p.m. Saturday, June 21. There will be a cookout, live music, activities, a silent auction and beer and wine garden.

Entry is for a free-will offering.

Historical display July 4 at WCC

The Warren Cultural Center will be the setting 2 p.m. Friday, July 4, for sharing of photos from Fourth of July celebrations past in Greenfield, Fontanelle and Massena from the 1900s and 2000s. A free will offering will be taken to cover rental of the facility.

During the showing, there will also be historic articles read from the archives of the Adair County Free Press.

This event is a joint effort between the Cumberland Rose Players and The Sidey Collection.
