Plans made to honor high school seniors

NV, O-M to hold ceremonies Sunday, May 18

Nodaway Valley CSD

The time has come to celebrate seniors at area schools, including Nodaway Valley and Orient-Macksburg.

At Nodaway Valley, pertinent events for the week are as follows:

• Monday, May 12 is Decision Day, where seniors can wear a shirt to school representing their future plans, whether it be college wear, a military shirt or uniform of their future occupation

• At 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 13 is the Senior Awards Night in the high school gymnasium

• At 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 14 is the baccalaureate service in the high school gymnasium (see separate story)

• Thursday, May 15 is the official last day for seniors. There is a senior breakfast and graduates will walk through the high school and elementary school and receive congratulations

• 1 p.m. Sunday, May 18 is the graduation commencement exercises in the high school auditorium

The Class of 2025 motto is, “The future depends on what you do today.” The class colors are light purple and white and the class flower are light purple, light pink and white roses.

At Orient-Macksburg, pertinent events for the week are as follows:

• 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 13 is a kindergarten through sixth grade music concert

• 1-2:15 p.m. Wednesday, May 14 is a Senior Decision and Awards Day

• 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 14 is the baccalaureate service at Orient United Methodist Church

• 2 p.m. Sunday, May 18 is the graduation commencement exercises in the high school auditorium
