Dake, Burr wed in August ceremony

Brooke Lynn Dake and Matthew Dale Burr were married 4 p.m. Aug. 6 at First United Methodist Church in Creston.

The bride is the daughter of Bruce and Susan Dake of Creston. The groom is the son of James and Maribeth Burr of Guthrie Center.

The Rev. Jodi Rushing officiated the ceremony.

Maid of honor was Courtney Dake, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Katie Dake and Mary Little and bridesman was Harry Hamblin. Personal attendant was Amanda Dake, cousin of the bride.

The bride was escorted by her father. She wore an ivory cap-sleeve, A-line dress trimmed with beads and lace, and her great-grandmother’s pearl necklace. She carried a bouquet of ivory, turquoise and coral flowers accented with pearls.

Best man was Derek Irlmeier, friend of the groom. Groomsmen were Donovan Smith and Brandon Gable.

Honored guests were grandparents of the bride and groom and the bride’s great-aunt.

A reception of dinner and dancing was held after the ceremony at Supertel Inn and Suites in Creston.

The couple reside in West Des Moines and plan a trip to Charleston, South Carolina, to celebrate their first anniversary in August 2017.
